South Mountain Partnership

South Mountain Landscape is distinct area of south-central Pennsylvania that includes portions of York, Adams, Franklin and Cumberland counties. It is a mix of rural, suburban, and the urban hubs Gettysburg, Chambersburg, Shippensburg, Carlisle, and Mechanicsburg. The region is rich with nature-based assets: miles of rolling farmland, acres of woods, rivers, and streams of all sizes. The quality of life is exceptional.

South Mountain Partnership Region wanted to measure the region's environmental and community health and recommend ways to improve and preserve our remarkable abundance of resources for generations to come. The State of the Region project will create a Report Card, interactive maps, and a story map. Eastwick Solutions teamed up with Gaat Perspectives, and Cedarville Engineering Group to work with the local county planning staff, and other stakeholders of South Mountain, to identify key assets and metrics.

The State of the Region Report card takes a "deep dive" into five categories of the resources and qualities that make South Mountain an exceptional place to live, work and play: Nature, Recreation, Agriculture & Food, History & Culture, and Public Health.

Eastwick kicked off the project September, 2022 and is expected to complete the Report Card in September, 2023. Check back for updates!
